About SnowSift

What SnowSift is

SnowSift helps skiers and snowboarders find the right gear at the right price. The v1 catalogue covers hardgoods only: skis, snowboards, ski boots, snowboard boots, ski bindings and snowboard bindings. For every product we publish the manufacturer's full specifications in one consistent, comparable format — so you can sift the whole market instead of hopping between brand sites and retailer tabs.

Where we are today — honestly

SnowSift is new, and we'd rather tell you exactly where it stands than pretend otherwise:

• Live now: verified manufacturer specs and MSRPs for a growing catalogue of skis, snowboards and bindings, with boots on the way.
• Coming for the 2026/27 season: live cross-retailer price comparison. Today's “Check price” buttons are plain links to retailer search results — not affiliate links, and no money changes hands when you click them.

Where the data comes from

Product specifications and MSRPs are extracted from each manufacturer's own product pages — the primary source. Every extraction is independently re-derived by a second, separate system, and the two results are reconciled field by field before anything is published. If they disagree, the product is held back for human review rather than shown. If a manufacturer doesn't publish a spec, we show a dash — we never fill gaps with guesses. We do not scrape retailer prices. When live price comparison launches, prices will come from official retailer data feeds through affiliate networks.

How we make money (affiliate disclosure)

Today: we don't. There are no ads, no sponsored placements, and no affiliate links on the site yet.

When price comparison launches, SnowSift will earn a commission if you click through to a retailer and buy something. Three commitments come with that, and they're permanent:

• Affiliate links never change the price you pay.
• Retailers are ordered by price — never by commission rate, and no retailer can pay to be featured or hidden.
• Every page with commercial links carries a clear disclosure.

Who runs SnowSift

SnowSift is built by a small independent team led by a lifelong skier — not by a retailer, a brand, or a media conglomerate. Independence is the entire point: we don't sell gear, so we have no reason to steer you toward one product over another.
