Affiliate disclosure

Required by the FTC's Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255) — and worth reading anyway, because it explains our business model in full.

Today: no affiliate links, no revenue

As of this writing, SnowSift contains no affiliate links. The “Check price” buttons on product pages open the named retailer's public search results in a new tab. They are plain links: no tracking parameters, no redirects through our servers, and no compensation of any kind to SnowSift if you click them or buy something afterward. We currently earn no money from this site.

Soon: affiliate links, clearly governed

SnowSift has applied (or is applying) to affiliate programs operated by networks such as AvantLink and Impact. Once approved, “Check price” links and price-comparison tables will become affiliate links: if you click through to a retailer and make a qualifying purchase, the retailer pays SnowSift a commission. When that happens, this page will be updated and every page containing affiliate links will carry a disclosure.

The rules that never change

  • Affiliate links never affect the price you pay. Commissions are paid by retailers out of their margin.
  • Retailers are ranked by price — never by commission. We will never reorder, suppress, or feature a retailer because of what they pay us. No sponsored rows, no “featured partner” placements.
  • Product data is independent of monetization. Specs come from manufacturers and are verified on their own track (methodology); no brand or retailer can pay to alter them.
  • Disclosure appears on every page with commercial links — not buried in a footer you have to hunt for. (It's in the footer too.)
