Specs are as published by the manufacturer. Waist is a size-varying spec, so each figure is at that ski's shortest published length (the anchor row). Weight, sidecut radius and tip and tail widths also vary with length and are anchored differently across these four skis, so this article does not compare them. Check each product page for those figures.

What the sheets say

Width steps up in even jumps. The Optic 88 to Optic 96 step is 8mm (88mm to 96mm), the Optic 96 to Optic 104 step is 8mm (96mm to 104mm) and the Optic 104 to Optic 114 step is 10mm (104mm to 114mm). Every gap is larger than the 1 to 2mm a ski's waist can change between lengths, so they are real differences even though the anchor lengths differ.

The category line sits between the 96 and the 104. snowsift.com lists the Optic 88 and Optic 96 as All-Mountain and the Optic 104 and Optic 114 as Freeride. That is SnowSift's own category label, not a claim from Line.

Profile. The Optic 88 lists a hybrid profile and the Optic 96 lists rocker, camber and rocker. snowsift.com does not display a profile for the Optic 104 or Optic 114, so there is no four-way profile comparison here. Our rocker, camber and flat guide explains what the terms mean.

Cores and construction. The Optic 88 and Optic 96 each list an aspen core and capwall construction. The Optic 104 and Optic 114 display neither, which means only that snowsift.com does not show them.

Tech features. The Optic 88 lists Gas Pedal Metal Overdrive, 5CUT Multi-Radius Sidecut, Fatty Base & Edge, Sintered Base, Sidewall Construction, Early Rise, Directional Flex and Biobased Resin. The Optic 96 lists 5-Cut, Fatty Base & Edge, Sintered Base, Gas Pedal Metal and Overdrive. No tech features are displayed for the Optic 104 or Optic 114.

Length runs. The Optic 88 and Optic 96 share the same five lengths, 156 to 184cm. The Optic 104 runs from 166 to 190cm in five lengths and the Optic 114 from 178 to 192cm in three, so the widest ski starts 22cm longer than the narrowest. See how to choose ski length for sizing.

Price, flex and the blanks. None of the four displays an MSRP or a flex rating. We show those as not published rather than guess.
